Susan Hall Combines Exotic Prints and Soft Fabrics For Bed Design
In case you missed our Defining Design event earlier this month, we thought you would like to see the actual bed designs that the interior designers installed this year and to know more about what inspired them.
Susan Hall, of Buttercup Home Custom Interiors in Boulder, Colorado, has a modern-eclectic design style, influenced by her life, travels and art. Because she loves to incorporate color and pattern into her interiors, it is no surprise that she was taken with one of Yves Delorme’s new spring patterns, Mousson. This reinterpretation of an 18th-century toiles de Jouy, with current-day etching and coloring, shows exotic animals in a new world.
Susan then added the coziness and comfort of an Emma blanket and Euro shams. A lush Saved cashmere throw tucked under the duvet cover provided another level of softness and tied in nicely with the other pieces. To finish the bed design, she selected crisp bespoke sheets that were edged with a scallop cut and trimmed in a coordinating green thread. The design was topped off with vegetable-dyed velvet decorative pillows and a collage made just for the space.
